Pretty handy bit of code that I want to keep in mind for later use. This sidebar is conditionally sticky (will stay touching the top of the browser) unless in the page header is in view. When this happens the sidebar sticks to the bottom of the header instead.

The new thinkjose.com isn’t exactly brand new, but is one that I worked on earlier in the summer for Jose Castillo. I had fun with the header, and stay tuned for an easter egg to be coming soon. BTW, I have permission in case you’re wondering.
I haven’t had the opportunity to play with this yet, but it looks like it would be handy. Kevin Hale wrote an article, Rediscovering the Button Element, which takes on the challenge of creating a uniform look across all browsers. Anyway, I will have to do an update after I get the opportunity [...]
I rarely use transparencies but when I do I have to track down a link that discusses this. domedia has an article that discusses a good way to get transparent backgrounds in IE and mozilla.

I saw this nice site (Design Melt Down) on Mr. Cain’s Blog. Design Melt Down discusses the latest trends and problems in webdesign and breaks designs into color, techniques and site type. Love it so far, thanks Jacob!

Between work and redesigning my site I have found little time to look for new and interesting things that are out there. So, this one comes from a friend here at work. Nick Rigby posted an interesting article on A List apart which details form elements contained in a fieldset where each is a new [...]
Squidfingers.com has a nice collection of free patterns/backgrounds (140) to choose from. Maintained by Travis Beckham, the site also includes some nice code snippets. I am especially fond of the div scrollers.
